Annual
Apprenticeship Showcase at OTC – South Campus
|
|
|
More
than 600 Orange County Public Schools students met with industry
professionals to learn about career opportunities.
Steve Lindas, Florida Department of Education Apprenticeship
Training Representative for the Orlando metro area, is quoted
saying, "The hope is we will open the eyes of local high
school seniors as well as the partnerships we have with local
schools, as well as government entities, to make registered apprenticeships
one of the best-kept secrets in the state for training."

OTC –
East Campus is Dressed for Success
|
|
|
Dress
for Success is a community partner on the OTC East Campus. Their
mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by
providing a network of support and professional attire to help them
thrive in life and the workplace. They welcome donations from
various vendors throughout the year to help them accomplish this
mission.
This year, they received a donation from Verizon of Ladies Bicycles
with the helmet and lock. We are excited to receive the bikes for
our students as a mode of transportation or a means of physical
exercise.
Thank you, Dress for Success!

Adult
General Education Class at NEW OTC – Apopka Campus
|
|
|
It was a
fantastic start to Adult General Education (AGE) classes at the new
Orange Technical College - Apopka Campus! Teachers engaged students
in friendly competition through platforms like Kahoot, making the
learning experience enjoyable and interactive.
Both
teachers and students were excited to be in attendance, fostering a
positive learning environment. Incorporating activities that
encourage English communication, especially for ESOL students, is a
great way to enhance language skills while building connections
among classmates.
